Right before christmas I was asked to do a sign for a local Bagel shop. The customer wanted the owners names on it and a few bagels.

 I started researching on GOOGLE but didnt really find anyting good. A few sad looking bagels that was all.

I started looking around the customers website, I liked what I found. Red brick wall, bagels and coffee....can't beat that. I decided to use the brick theme for the sign as well. And work with their logo.
I found some usable brick images that I started working with.

23" long pine sign

This is my first design made for my sister-in-law. The sign is made of solid American pine wood. The size is 23"x7"x.750 this is a perfect size for longer last names and any custom work in addition to the Family Name. 

cross geometry 

I brought in the cross as a picture and traced it to get the geometry. The orginal picture was pretty small, resulting in a very dirty geometry. Took me 3 hours to clean it up and bring it up to a standard I thought would look good.

The front of the sign is painted black before the v-carve. Takes about 17 min for the sign to be machined.
most cuts are done at 100in/min.

After the machining part is done, I apply up to 5 coats of polyurethane to give it a good seal and long lasting life. 2 saw tooth hangers in the back and the sign  is ready to go
